One lucky family in New York City had a Christmas of a lifetime. The family was able to spend the night at the FAO Schwarz toy store in Manhattan. Just a little visit to FAO Schwarz is an experience unlike any other so imagine what a night’s stay is like.

FAO Schwarz set up the special night and every detail was thought of to make it magical. They set up a living room looking out on the giant Rockefeller Christmas tree, as well as a sleeping area and a dining table set-up for the family to enjoy.

The night’s stay isn’t all the family got to experience. They also had a free run of the store, including the giant step-on keyboard from the movie “Big.” And YES, they also got a shopping spree, according to BRProud.

So how did this all come about? This was a collaboration between the iconic toy store and Airbnb. It was a special promotion in which FAO Schwarz cleared out its 20,000-square-foot store to give one New York family the opportunity to have the store all to themselves for an overnight stay for 25 dollars.  Oh, and part of the overnight stay is to receive a free shopping spree guided by one of the living toy-soldiers, according to the NYPost. Can you imagine the thrill for these children?

The overnight experience was only available on December 21st and the online lottery took place on December 15th.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the overnight stay involved keeping within the strictest safety guidelines provided by the CDC.

FAO Schwarz is staying in the giving spirit by making a to-be-determined donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

What a beautiful thing for the world’s most iconic toy store to do something this special for a family.
