Nick Jonas revealed his purity ring ultimately shaped his sex life as an adult.

As most of you know, the 26-year-old and his brothers, Joe and Kevin Jonas, all used to wear purity rings when they were growing up. It was meant to symbolize their abstinence from sex until marriage and for years, it was a topic of conversation that constantly came up. Now, Nick explained how his purity ring affected his perspective on sex.

The Jonas Brothers singer admitted the meaning behind the ring is still very important to him and he plans on passing on the values he learned to his future children with Priyanka Chopra.

“The values behind the idea of understanding what sex is, and what it means, are incredibly important,” Nick told The Guardian in a new interview. “When I have children, I’ll make sure they understand the importance of sex, and consent, and all the things that are important.”

However, the experience wasn't all positive. He admitted it was "very strange" and "very tough to digest" that the world was obsessed with his sex life since he was an actual child.

“What’s discouraging about that chapter of our life is that at 13 or 14, my sex life was being discussed," he explained. "It was very tough to digest it in real time, trying to understand what it was going to mean to me and what I wanted my choices to be while having the media speaking about a 13-year-old’s sex life."

"I don’t know if it would fly in this day and age. Very strange," Nick added.
