A man who is accused of choking and shooting at his girlfriend nearly two weeks ago is still on the loose and Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies need your help trying to find him.

According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, Dwight Williams allegedly broke into the victim's home in the 1800 block of Wanda Street in Iberia Parish around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23. Deputies say he began choking her. She then ran out of the house and Williams allegedly fired several shots at her. All of this allegedly happened in front of the girlfriend's juvenile daughter.

Dwight Williams is wanted on the following charges:

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Home Invasion
  • Battery of a Dating Partner by Strangulation
  • Simple Criminal Damage to Property
  • Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Illegal Use of Weapons
