And why not? Two former LSU baseball players, Will Harris and Alex Bregman are current members of the Astros.

Harris, a relief pitcher for the Astros since 2015, was actually more of a corner infielder at LSU.

A native of Slidell, Harris was the starting first baseman for the Tigers, from 2004-2005, before moving across the diamond, to become the starting third baseman in 2006, while also working as a relief pitcher that season.

The now 33-year old Harris had his best season at LSU in 2005, hitting a .329 with 7 home runs and 39 runs batted in as a junior

A 2016 All-Star, Harris was selected in the 9th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Colorado Rockies.

Bregman, the starting third baseman for the Astros, was voted the 2013 National Freshman of the Year by Baseball America, while winning the 2013 Brooks Wallace Award, representing the country's best college shortstop,

The now 23-year old Bregman and was a two-time was a two-time All-American at LSU (2013 & 2015), prior to being selected by the Astros with the 2nd-overall pick of the 2015 MLB Amateur Draft.

Harris, Bregman, and the rest of the Astros are currently battling the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.
