In an effort, help keep that vibrant tradition of Cajun and Creole music alive and well in our culture Louisiana Folk Roots is hosting a three-day band camp. That camp has been scheduled for October 7th, 8th, and 9th at Vermilionville. Those days just happen to be the days that lead right into Festivals Acadiens et Creoles.

The reason for the camp is to not only extol the virtues of South Louisiana music but to help the musicians who play it learn more about it and how to play it better in a band style setting.

The camp will consist of two sessions each day. The first will run from 9 am until Noon. The second will take place from 1 pm until 4 pm. There will be a one hour break for lunch. Lunch is not included in your camp registration but food is available at Vermilionville for purchase.

The cost of the camp is $300 and you may register online via the Louisiana Folk Roots website.
