Once the home of a southern sugar mill, built in 1829, you will feel the history as soon as you step out of your vehicle or boat. The sugar mill operated until 1852. You can still see where it stood.

Fontainebleau State Park is named after Fontainebleau, a forest about 40 minutes from Paris. The park is 2,800 acres on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The sunsets are amazing and the converted trails were once real railroad tracks.

There are 23 Premium Campsites (19 pull-through sites, one with sewerage hookups and 4 campsites with sewerage hookups and all have water and electrical hookups. Prices range from $25 to $33 per night.

There are 103 Improved Campsites that start as low as $20 per night. Improved Campsites have water and electrical hookups.

Single Tents are available for rent, but if you really want to stay in style, cabins are available. Deluxe Cabins start as low as $150 per night and sleep up to 8 people. The Standard Lodge is available for as low as $155 per night and sleeps up to 10 people.

Basic cookware, cooking utensils, dinnerware, silverware, towels and linens are provided for cabin and lodge rentals.
