Veteran KATC Reporter Announces Departure From News Station
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - A reporter at KATC TV-3 that many in Acadiana have gotten to know for the last two years has annoucned that she is moving on..
While we know that reporters often come and go in the Lafayette news media, it is still shocking whenever one announces they are leaving Acadiana or moving on in their career.
The latest to announce their departure from the Lafayette news media is Penelope Lopez from KATC TV-3.
She has been with KATC for two years, but now the time has come for Lopez to move on. In her social media announcement, it's clear that she will miss South Louisiana. After all, she even states that a young lady from New York never knew she could eat so much gumbo.
Lopez, who was assigned to cover stories out of Vermilion Parish, thanks those who welcomed her there. She says that while she may be leaving Acadiana, she has made so many lifelong friends from the Heart of Acadiana.
As for Penelope's next stop, she says she is heading to the East Coast and invites those who follow her on social media to continue to follow her as she navigates her career in news media.
We wish Penelope all the best, and we do not doubt that she will be successful wherever her career takes her. Acadiana will miss you.
Here's Penelope announcing her departure from KATC and Acadiana on social media.
