GRAND ISLE, La. (KPEL News) - Officials down in Grand Isle, Louisiana have reported an apparent murder-suicide that took place on Tuesday morning (March 11).

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the horrible incident that took place around 11:00 am.

According to Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, the Grand Isle Police Department responded to the home.

Their initial investigation indicated that a 79-year-old man fatally shot his 82-year-old wife before taking his own life.

No other details have been released at this time. The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
