As reports swirl about Hooters of America possibly filing for bankruptcy, Hooters of Louisiana is setting the record straight about the status of its local restaurants.

A report from Fox Business indicates that Hooters of America, the franchisor behind the iconic restaurant chain, is considering filing for bankruptcy to "restructure its business and address financial struggles." The potential filing, which could happen in the coming months, has sparked widespread speculation about the future of Hooters locations nationwide.

However, Hooters of Louisiana—a separate entity from Hooters of America—has released a statement making it very clear that its restaurants remain unaffected by the potential bankruptcy filing.

In a statement, the company emphasized that it is "not impacted by Hooters of America's financial troubles" and that its locations remain strong.

"The Louisiana Hooters restaurants are thriving and have been for the past 34 years," said Greg Gibson, Vice President of Hooters of Louisiana.

"We will continue to provide our loyal customers with the hospitality and service they deserve. Thanks to our great customers, employees, and alumni, we’ve been an industry icon and look forward to serving Louisiana for another 34 years."

While the Lafayette Hooters location closed in January 2024, the remaining restaurants in Louisiana continue to operate as usual.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local charities, children's hospitals, schools, and sports organizations, reassuring customers that their favorite local spots are here to stay for the time being.
