(Lafayette, Louisiana)—A small fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in the restroom of a Lafayette Parish school.

KATC reports that a school resource officer was able to quickly extinguish the fire at Alice Boucher Elementary School Wednesday afternoon, however, the Lafayette Fire Department did respond to the fire at the school.

The call came into 911 at 2:50 pm and the school was evacuated as the school resource officer extinguished the fire before in the restroom.

According to the report, the LFD found a partially burnt clothing item in one of the bathroom stalls once they initiated their investigation into the fire, and there was some minor smoke damage done to the restroom in the school.

The investigation into the fire at the elementary school in Lafayette is still under investigation.
