Bridge on W. Congress Street in Lafayette, Louisiana to Close for 2.5 Months
A pretty busy road in Lafayette, Louisiana will be closed over the next several weeks for repairs to a bridge.
Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) has announced that the W. Congress Street Bridge, located in the 4800 block of W. Congress Street approximately 0.2 miles west of Rue du Belier, will be closed for repairs.
The bridge will close to all traffic starting June 13, 2024. The closure is expected to last approximately 2.5 months.
Detour routes will be clearly posted to help drivers navigate around the construction zone.
Detour routes are as follows:
- Eastbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Le Violon Road to Dulles Drive and then to Rue du Belier.
- Westbound traffic on W. Congress Street will detour onto Rue du Belier to Dulles Drive then to Le Violon Rd.
Residents and businesses in the immediate area will have local access so they are minimally impacted.
