Ochsner Lafayette General Welcomes First Baby of 2024

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) proudly announced the arrival of Lafayette's first baby of 2024. Braleigh, a beautiful baby girl, made her grand entrance into the world just after the clock struck midnight, marking a joyful start to the new year. Born at 12:21 a.m., Braleigh is already making a name for herself in Acadiana.

Weighing in at 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and measuring 22.5 inches in length, Braleigh is turning heads and bringing smiles to the faces of those she has met. She joins her family as the second child of Briana Gotch and Terence Simmons from Carencro, LA. Her big sister, 7-year-old Brielle, is bubbling with excitement to meet her new sibling and embrace her role as a big sister.

Ochsner LGMC, renowned for being the largest birthing facility in the region, upheld its reputation for excellence by ensuring a safe and comfortable delivery. The family expressed their gratitude for the warmth and professionalism displayed by the hospital team during this special event.
