Deadline Nears for $50 Million Disney Settlement Claims

A deadline is looming for those who need to submit a claim in a class action settlement by YouTube TV and DirecTV against the Walt Disney Company.

The $50 million partial settlement was reached in a class action antitrust lawsuit filed by YouTube TV Plaintiffs, DirecTV Stream Plaintiffs, and FuboTV Plaintiffs against the Walt Disney Company. FuboTV Plaintiffs have not settled with Disney, however, the other two have.

The lawsuit alleged that Disney violated federal antitrust law and various state antitrust and consumer-protection laws by engaging in various practices that allegedly raised the prices of Streaming Live Pay Television (SLPTV) and that these acts caused the Settlement Classes to incur damages. Disney denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit.

Who Is Eligible for the Disney Settlement?

To be eligible to submit a claim, you must have purchased a YouTube TV subscription or DirecTV streaming live pay TV subscription (including DirecTV Stream, DirecTV Now and AT&T Now) from April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2026.

Disney Settlement Claim Deadline

Claims must be submitted online or mailed by September 8, 2026, to receive a cash payment.

What You Need to File a Claim

If you are part of the settlement, you should have received a notice by mail or email containing a Unique ID. You'll need that to complete the claim form so the administrator can validate your claim form.

After submitting your claim online, you will receive an email with a confirmation code for your completed submission. Be sure to keep your confirmation email and code and refer back to it if you have any questions about your claim form.

How Much Money Could You Receive?

The amount of cash payment you may receive will be proportional to the length of your YouTube TV and/or DirecTV Stream subscription.
