Wednesday Powerball Results – Louisiana Lottery Confirms Winners
(Baton Rouge, LA) Louisiana and much of the nation that have aspirations of untold wealth were holding their collective breaths last night as the Powerball lottery conducted its Wednesday night drawing. The reason for the added attention to the weekly multi-state lottery drawing? A jackpot that was estimated to be $1.444 billion.
You did read that number correctly; last night's Powerball jackpot was among the largest the game has ever seen. In fact, our sources at Powerball confirmed the Wednesday jackpot would be the fourth largest in the game's history.

Only jackpot prizes of $2.04 billion, $1,765 billion, and $1.586 billion have bested the total amount of money available to Powerball players with the purchase of a single ticket. Fascinating fact about all of those big money winners, every one of them was one by a ticket purchased in California. The $1.568 billion jackpot was split between three tickets, one sold in California, the other two sold in Florida and Texas.
What Numbers Were Drawn For September 3, 2025, Powerball?
Here is how the drawing for September 3, 2025, played out in the Powerball Lottery last night.
Despite a near record number of tickets sold for Wednesday's drawing, there was no jackpot winner. No ticket sold across the Powerball footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the $1.444 billion jackpot prize.
There were a lot of Match 5 Million winners. Players in Michigan, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming matched all five of the white balls but missed on the Powerball and had the Power Play multiplier option on their ticket. By rule, their prize is $2 million.
The $1 million winners on that same Match 5 Million scenario were sold in California, actually two tickets there, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, two tickets there too, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Were There Any Powerball Winners From Louisiana?
Louisiana did get some winners last night as well. The largest prize claimed by a state-sold ticket for Wednesday's Powerball was $100,000, and across the state, based on data from the Louisiana Lottery, it looks as if there were more than 43,000 winning tickets sold in Louisiana for the Wednesday Powerball drawing.
Here are the numbers from September 3, 2025.
