Ragin’ Cajuns Store on Johnston Street to Permanently Close
LAFAYETTE, La. (KMDL-FM) - A bit of sad news if you're a fan of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and love to do one-stop shopping for all things Vermilion and White. The Ragin' Cajuns Store, located at 1805 Johnston St. near campus, will be closing this Friday, February 27, 2026.

What the Store Announced on Social Media
The announcement was made in a Facebook post. It reads in part: "After many great memories, the Ragin' Cajuns Store Heritage location will officially close on Friday, February 27. We will be open that day from 10 AM - 6 PM for your final shopping visit."
Why This Location Mattered to Fans
As you can see in the above post, the Student Union on campus still has a great selection of Ragin' Cajuns merchandise. However, this location was easier for the general public to get in and out of.
Then again, there are those that have even complained that the location of the Ragin' Cajuns Store was horrible. (I didn't find it all that inconvenient and loved shopping there.)

When Did the Ragin' Cajuns Store Open?
The closure marks only about four and half years at this location. You may recall the Ragin' Cajuns Red Zone Store in a butler building on the corner of E Lewis Street and Johnston Street before that. That location opened in April 2013 before moving to this more permanent location.
What Merchandise the Store Offered
The Ragin' Cajuns Store offered licensed Ragin' Cajuns merchandise, including apparel for men, women, children and infants. Everything from jerseys and sneakers to Ragin' Red seasoning and jewelry lined the shelves of the shop.
