Louisiana Ticket Claims $230,000 in Wednesday Lottery Drawing
As an observer of lottery drawings in Louisiana, I feel obligated to suggest to those who want to strike it rich playing lottery games with the Louisiana Lottery should be participating in those games over the next week or so. The reason? Lady Luck appears to have moved back into Louisiana and she's apparently applying her "magic" to lottery tickets sold here in The Boot.
Just five short days ago a Powerball ticket sold in Louisiana, Baton Rouge to be more precise, earned a prize of $50,000. While just eight days ago a Powerball ticket sold in Frierson, Louisiana earned a prize of $150,000. Last night, our sources with the Louisiana Lottery in Baton Rouge confirmed another big win in the Bayou State.
According to the Louisiana Lottery that ticket is worth $230,000 this morning. So, let's get you the details so you can check your tickets if you played. Wednesday night is a big lottery night in Louisiana. There are drawings for Powerball, Lotto, and Easy 5. All three of those games have seen their jackpot prizes grow significantly over the past few weeks.
The Powerball game's most recent jackpot winner occurred on July 3rd of this year. That prize was $139.3 million. The game's jackpot has been growing ever since and last night they drew for an estimated top prize of $75.7 million. There was no winner. But if you'd like to see the drawing. Here it is.
The numbers we saw host Randy Trainor reveal were:
24 27 32 47 66 Powerball 26 Power Play x2
As we mentioned there was no jackpot win associated with last night's Powerball. And the largest prize our source at the Louisiana Lottery confirmed was $200. And only two tickets sold in Louisiana earned that amount. We still encourage you to verify your tickets via the Official Powerball Website or the Official Louisiana Lottery Website just to confirm any prize you might have won and how to collect that prize.
Wednesday's Lotto drawing in Louisiana was for an estimated $1.7 million. The numbers drawn for Lotto last night were reported to be:
19 24 27 32 36 41
According to our sources at the Louisiana Lottery in Baton Rouge, eleven tickets sold for Wednesday's Lotto scored a prize of $821 but no ticket matched the numbers needed to claim the $1.7 million top prize. That jackpot will grow to an estimated $1.75 million. The last time Lotto had a winner was in March of this year when a ticket sold in Coushatta claimed a jackpot of $825,000.
You've probably deduced that Wednesday's big winner in Louisiana came from Easy 5. The top prize in Wednesday's drawing was $230,000 and that's exactly how much a ticket sold in Thibodaux is worth this morning. The ticket matched all five of the numbers needed to claim the prize. Those numbers were:
01 04 06 12 32
If you have the Easy 5 ticket with those numbers you'll need to contact your nearest Louisiana Lottery office, they will offer instructions on how to claim your prize. However, your first order of business should be to sign the back of that ticket. That way if it's lost or stolen only you can collect the money.
Speaking of money, most lottery games and casino games do not return the money you invested to play them. They are a risk and if you can't afford to play the games then that's a risk you can't afford to take. Please play responsibly when you play. If you have a gambling problem the Louisiana Lottery offers assistance via this phone number, 1-877-770-STOP (7867). The call and the referrals are free. Good Luck.
And speaking of tickets, while everyone wants a winning lottery ticket, there are some tickets we can live without.
