The Consumer Product Safety Commission has published a notice that many Louisiana families will need to pay attention to. That notice involved a toy from the highly respected Fisher-Price Company.  Many Louisiana households from Abbeville to Zwolle have purchased Fisher-Price Products for their children and grandchildren through the years.

So, the potential that this recalled toy could be within reach of your child or grandchild right now is very real. Unfortunately, so is the potential choking hazard that prompted Fisher-Price and the Consumer Product Safety Commission to take such drastic action.

According to data from the National Institute for Health each year between 66 and 77 children under ten years of age lose their lives to a choking incident. That's a small part of the estimated 5,000 choking deaths reported in the United States each year.

The toy in question is designed to entertain and engage children in their strollers. One of the ways kids interact with the toy is by reaching out for it and touching it. Officials at Fisher-Price were alerted that on more than one occasion a portion of the toy had broken away from the main toy design. Children, doing what kids will do, often take that broken piece and put it in their mouths, there lies the danger.

The toy is called the Brunch and Go Stroller. As you can see it has a depiction of bacon, avocado toast, and a fried egg. It's the egg that has caused the greatest concern. There have been multiple reports that children have been able to break the egg into smaller pieces and then put them in their mouths.

We should note that the egg portion of the toy is designed to be a "teething ring" but it was not designed to break apart into smaller pieces. If you have this toy in your child's stroller or anywhere in your home you are advised to stop using it.

If you reach out to Fisher-Price they will provide a replacement stroller toy free of charge. In order to obtain the free replacement you are asked to write the word "RECALL" on the toy. You will then upload a picture of that to this website.

Once you've done that and completed whatever forms need to be filled out you are advised to throw the toy in the trash. Where possible, Fisher-Price is reaching out directly to consumers who may have ordered the toy via their website. So, if you do get a notice from the company, it is legit.
