Shall we take a step back in time? What were you doing 14 years ago? Maybe you were snapping your Silly Bandz in Sulphur or jamming to the Jersey Shore in Jennings. You might have also been doing the Harlem Shake in Haughton or spewing out the Cinnamon Challenge in Shreveport. Needless to say, a lot has changed in the past decade and a half.

Perhaps if you were alive and living your best life in 2010 you'll recall a certain extremely sour candy. We can say extremely sour candy because they were manufactured by the same company that brought us "The Curiously Strong Mints", Altoids.

Do you remember Altoid Sours? They were certainly big in the early 2000s but must have lost favor with the candy-buying public the manufacturer decided to pull the plug on it. But evidently, the Altoids folks miscalculated because ever since the "sours" were discontinued there has been a strong online undercurrent demanding their return.

The website Change.org is currently hosting several petitions aimed at forcing the return of the candies but those petitions just might not be needed any longer. That's because the Altoid Sour is coming back with a similar look and a new name.

The Instagram snack site, Snackolator is reporting that Altoid Sours will return under the name Retro Sours. The candy will be made by a different manufacturer but will allegedly use the same recipe. We should note that Iconic Candy LLC has no affiliation with Altoids or the brand's parent company Mars Wrigley. However, according to Snackolator, the recipe is the same that was used to make the iconic Altoid Sours.

There is one other caveat to the return of the "sours". The candies will be sold exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store locations. So if you're a fan, you should look there the next time you stop in for a hearty meal and a mystery. What? You don't know about the mystery at every Cracker Barrell? Check it out.
