(KMDL-FM) Where I work, we play a lot of games. No, not like office politics games, but literal games where we give away prizes. So, television game shows are quite inspiring in my line of work. Television viewers in Lafayette, Lake Charles, Shreveport, and just about every other large city and small town in Louisiana are familiar with the Steve Harvey-hosted game show Family Feud.

Harvey isn't the original host, he is one of six individuals who have held that esteemed title. The first host was the "kissing bandit" Richard Dawson. The former Hogan's Heroes and Match Game regular kissed just about every woman who came on the show. Of course, the year was 1976, and if folks were bothered by it, no one really said anything out loud.

Following Dawson in the role were Ray Combs, Louie Anderson, Richard Karn, John O'Hurley, and then came Steve Harvey. You've probably noticed that all of these gentlemen have one thing in common: they are funny. Which is what you have to be if you want to host a TV game show like Family Feud.

Because if you're not funny, everyone who is watching has a collection of remote controls and a few hundred other options to choose from, so be funny or be forgotten.
