13 Inanimate Objects People in Louisiana Yell at the Most
As I climbed out of my car at the gas station near I-10 in Rayne, Louisiana the other afternoon I heard a conversation coming from the other side of the pump. An older gentleman was having an animated discussion with the gas pump. Apparently, the machine had processed his card and was being a bit cantankerous about spewing forth the fuel he needed for his truck.
He saw me looking at him. I smiled. That's when it dawned on me, here in Louisiana we talk to a lot of things that only talk back after we have been drinking on a Mardi Gras parade route too long.
I know there are machines at our office that I talk to on a regular basis. And, if those machines were actual employees I would probably be spending some time with our Human Resources Department. Yes, I have made disparaging remarks about copy machines, printers, computer monitors, televisions, door locks, toilets, and coffee machines. And that's usually within my first hour of being on the job.
I think we all do that. I know I talk to my truck almost every morning. I bet you talk to your car too. Those conversations with our vehicles usually come as we are desperate for them to perform. It's funny how our tone changes when we finally hear the engine turn over and crank, right?
I am willing to bet as you scroll through the following 13 items you will find at least one situation that you have been in where words were exchanged between you and something that can't talk back. Again, if you heard words coming from the object someone is either pranking you really hard or maybe you're in need of a few days off.
