Members of Cub Scout Pack 456 (students at Milton Elementary) visited 99.9 KTDY and the rest of the Townsquare Lafayette radio stations.

It's always fun to lead tours for tykes like these: they are energetic, inquisitive and matter-of-fact (kids say the darndest things!!).

While touring our radio stations, Cub Scouts have the opportunity to learn what all those square flat things are, why the television in the other radio station was larger than the one in KTDY, how much money I make and why we don't play the music from Dora, The Explorer (REAL questions from past tours, too cute!!).

Cub Scouts (or any other group that tours our stations) also learn how radio stations make money, how commercials are made, what a person's voice looks like in wave form and how insanely into Elvis CJ really is (really, you should see his office!).

The best part of the tour:  right after the "rules" are explained to the kids in preparation of the tour (Rule #1:  Don't touch anything.  Rule #2:  Please be quiet.  Rule #3:  Don't touch anything.), one of the scouts walked up to me (he couldn't have been older than 6 or 7) and asked for a hug.  What did I do, you ask?  Well, when a 6-year-old asks you for a hug, you give him a hug.  Period.

Thanks to the kids for coming by for a visit, and a HUGE thanks to the parents for being involved in their kids' lives and events.  Their memory of me and our radio stations will fade over time, but the effects of you spending time with them will not.

If your group is interested in touring our stations, send me an email.  I will be happy to show you around!
