City of Scott and Partners Working on Community Fridge, Here’s How You Can Help
(999 KTDY) - There is no secret that people all across Acadiana are hurting, and life becomes even harder when you have no idea where your next meal is coming from. The City of Scott, along with local groups, is partnering to bring a community fridge to the city.
According to the City of Scott's Facebook page, Envision Scott and the Lafayette Community Fridge, powered by Foodies of Lafayette, have begun creating a community fridge for residents.

The goal, like other community fridge projects, is to provide food to those in the community who are in need. The plan is to create the Scott Community Fridge and Pantry.
Anyone who is interested in being a part of this process only has to reach out to the Scott City Hall at 337-233-1130. Mayor Jan-Scott Richard says they are seeking donations of materials and construction supplies.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a partner in the project can become a sponsor. In addition, businesses and residents who are willing to provide food are also asked to contact the city hall for information.
And, finally, volunteers of all kinds will be needed to bring the project to fruition.
As noted, officials are grateful for any level of involvement that is received from the community, as it will have a major impact on the residents of the City of Scott. Together, the plan can happen.
