Bet You don’t know Why We Call Them Hot Dogs [VIDEO]

Why do we call them hot dogs?  It was by accident really.

On HWY 90 I saw a billboard for a new business called 'Hot Dawg', and it hit me...why do we call them hot dogs?  Is it because of the dash-hound?  And why were they originally called frankfurters? And while we're on the topic, is a frankfurter the same as a hot dog?
