The Bayou Teche Bear Festival will take place April 18 and 19.  In conjunction with this year's festival, a few events on the Teche are planned.

On the 18th, the Bear Festival Canoe Adventure will be led by the Friends of Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge.  (You can download the registration form here prior to the event.)  The event leaves from the Fairfax Foster Bailey Boat Landing.

Also on the 18th, Bear Festival Motorized Boat Tours will leave at 8:30, 10, 11;30, 1 and 2:30.  Registration site is the US Fish & Wildlife Service Tent by the Franklin Court House.

On the 19th, there will be a basic introduction to canoeing course, 10am - 2pm.  Registration for the course will be at the US F&W Service tent.
