Acadiana Symphony’s 30th Annual Christmas Concert
The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra is going to catapult you into the spirit of the season with an amazing Christmas Concert.
Every year, the Acadiana Symphony brings generations together with the sounds of the season at its annual Christmas Concert, this year scheduled for December 13th.
The theme - "Do You Hear What I Hear" - pairs the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra with guest artist Christopher “Burris” Hochkeppel.
Burris, a Lafayette native, is best known for his success as the frontman and producer for the band, Burris. He is also an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and educator who's contributed content to national outlets including SYFY, E!, Lifetime, and Discovery Network.
Burris will join the Symphony to present the audience with a cheerful and familiar repertoire of Christmas favorites and will be joined by other special guests - the Acadiana Symphony Youth Orchestra, Chorale des Amis, & the Lafayette High School Chorus.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette
Continuing its 30-year holiday tradition, the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra is excited about this year's Christmas Concert, as it is the organization's largest and most anticipated performance of the year.
How large? More than 200 local musicians and vocalists will come together on stage, to present a magnificent performance of popular Christmas songs, through the lens of classical and local-cultural genres, including Cajun, Zydeco, and Jazz.
If you plan on attending this event (it will be a great night for the whole family), you are encouraged to arrive early to take FREE pictures with Santa, as well as enjoy sweet and savory refreshments for purchase.
The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra's Executive Director, Dana Baker said, “our Christmas concert is a particular favorite of mine, because it embodies the sights and sounds of the holidays, as we know them in Acadiana. It’s also a wonderful opportunity for our youth orchestra to showcase their skills, while experiencing the thrill of performing alongside seasoned, professional musicians."
And Christopher Burris will be on familiar ground as he himself was once a youth musician and grew up in Lafayette, attending the Acadiana Symphony's performances with his parents.
Baker continues, "It’s wonderful to see (Burris's) musical career come full circle, and to be able to welcome him to play on stage as our featured guest artist, for the first time, ever!”
