The Acadiana Master Naturalists are taking applications for the Spring 2015 program.

The mission of the Acadiana Master Naturalist Program is to educate Louisiana citizens about their flora and fauna, environment, ecosystem, and natural history. Classes take place every Spring. Graduates perform volunteer service in furtherance of the mission.

This program is limited to 20 participants, so it is important to get your application in before the deadline of 15 December 2014. The fee is $200 for all ten of the 6-hour workshops.

Below, you will find a tentative workshop schedule.  Please be aware that there may be changes to these dates and times. The times listed below do NOT account for travel time to and from workshops.

Workshop 2 – February 15 – 12pm-6pm – Iberia Parish
Workshop 3 – February 27-28 – 4pm-1pm – Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge
Workshop 4 – March 7 – 9am-3pm – Jean LaFitte and Vermilionville
Workshop 5 – March 14 – 10am-4pm – Dr. Charles Allen’s property
Workshop 6 – March 28 – 1pm-7pm – Lake Martin & Henderson
Workshop 7 – April 12 – 8am-2pm – LA State Arboretum
Workshop 8 – April 18 – 9am-3pm – Eunice Prairie and Dr. Malcolm Vidrine’s prairie
Workshop 9 – May 2 – 4pm-10pm – Cade Farm
Workshop 10 – May 16 – 12pm-6pm – Ecology Center
