Two restaurant owners in Abbeville were arrested by a federal, state and local law enforcement task force on immigration charges.

The two from Abbeville were part of the 32 total that were arrested in Louisiana and Texas.

According to KPLC, authorities said that the restaurant owners utilized the services of a Houston, Texas-based employment agency who supplied illegal immigrants to be used as cheap labor.

Authorities also said that many of the immigrants were paid less than minimum wage, were not offered training, tips or benefits, and were forced to live in undesirable living conditions.
