The Louisiana Department of Health issued its 5:30 p.m. update for Thursday, March 19th. There are now 392 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana and 899 tests have been performed. 10 deaths have been reported as a result of the coronavirus.

After confirming one COVID-19 case in St. Landry parish earlier today, another was confirmed just moments ago. In addition to that case, a new case in Lafayette, along with confirmations of COVID-19 in both Acadia and Iberia parish brought the grand total of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region to 7.

Lafayette Parish: 3
St. Landry Parish: 2
Acadia Parish: 1
Iberia Parish: 1

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as 26 of the 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow (Friday, March 20) at 9:30 a.m.
