Here's the latest update on Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura as they make their way towards the Gulf Coast.

The KATC Storm Team 3 Weather Lab reports Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura both continue to pose threats to Acadiana pretty much all week.

A Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect from Cameron to Morgan City which means tropical storm conditions are likely within the next 2 to 36 hours.

The 4 pm update shows the current track continuing to take Hurricane Marco toward the south Louisiana coast late in the day Monday, and weakening to a strong tropical storm as it makes landfall.

"We then expect the storm to make a bend to the west and head toward our general area overnight Monday and into Tuesday.

The storm should gradually weaken as it moves inland and westward, but tropical squalls and breezy conditions can be expected in Acadiana."

Tropical Storm Laura is still expected to strengthen Hurricane status once the storm gets into the Gulf of Mexico.

Laura is on track to make landfall Wednesday afternoon or evening as a Category 2 Hurricane, possibly stronger according to KATC.

"Keep in mind that the intensity forecast is the trickiest to nail down, so we could be potentially dealing with even a slightly stronger storm by then."
