Youngsville Woman Arrested In St. Mary Parish

A St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputy says he tried to make a traffic stop on a Youngsville woman Friday evening as she was attempting to get onto Highway 90.

The deputy saw the driver, 34-year-old Jessica Hotard, speeding on Uranus Road.  Police report Hotard almost hit a parked car, forced one vehicle off to the side of the road and failed to stop at a stop sign when she drove up to Highway 182.

The police say Hotard did not stop her car for several miles on Highway 90 while the deputy was trying to stop her.

Hotard was booked for reckless operation of a vehicle and flight from an officer.
