Youngsville Fire Cuts Back On Service To Unincorporated Areas

Budget cuts at the Youngsville Fire Department mean they will stop responding to most calls in unincorporated Lafayette Parish starting on January 1st. A big part of its funding problem is the change in payments from Lafayette Consolidated Government. The department will continue to respond to calls of structure fires and structural fire alarms within unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish until funding stops.

The cut in service includes the following:

·         Medical Incidents

·         Vehicle Accidents

·         Trash Fires

·         Gas Leaks

·         Investigations (Not Related to Structure Fires)

·         Hazardous Materials Incidents

·         Dumpster Fires

·         Vehicle Fires

·         Other Incidents Not Structural in Nature
