Until today, I hadn't heard of The Happiness Walk. But when I saw the wonderful piece that Ginny Sassaman wrote for HuffPost Impact, I had to find out. Let me backtrack a little... Ginny's article, titled, "Oh, the Food! The Happiness Walk Meets the Happiest City" is a wonderful tribute to the people of Lafayette, Acadiana, and Louisiana. She writes about how despite trials and tribulations, our neck of the woods is a hospitable, inviting place, full of generous, fun folks; the article includes a special nod to our delicious food. You should read the article. It'll make you happy.

The Happiness Walk is a walk across America to promote an American's right to the pursuit of happiness. Their website states:

We walk because the policies and practices of our systems, institutions and our government ought to support and uphold our basic right, and that of future generations, to the pursuit of happiness.

I think our joi de vivre proves we already got this message here!
