The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) plays this weekend near Lake Charles in the Battle on the Bayou softball tourney.

"Battle on the Bayou II" Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team Tournament will be held June 20-21, 2014 at McMurry Park in Sulphur.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST), a nationally recognized team comprised of amputee active duty military personnel and veterans, will play against Olympic Gold medalist Jennie Finch-Daigle and a team of all-stars June 20-21 in the “Battle on the Bayou II” Softball Tournament in Sulphur.

The tournament will be held at McMurry Park, with game events beginning each night at 5 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go towards helping wounded warrior amputees. It will also aid in the support of the WWAST. Sponsorships for the event are available and donations are also being accepted.
