There's so much construction going on around Lafayette right now. Coupled with increased traffic and holiday stress, getting from here to anywhere is a challenge. Add the people who believe their destination is more important than yours, the drivers who can't figure out a roundabout or what to do at a four-way stop, or the maze at Johnston and Camellia that lots of veteran Lafayette drivers still can't navigate, and it's a recipe for disaster! I asked folks on facebook which Lafayette intersection they thought was most dangerous. Here's the results of my unscientific survey:

    Johnston and Ambassador Caffery

Lots of lanes and lines, plus Acadiana Mall and a high traffic count, made this one tops in many people's minds.

    Johnston and Camellia

Get into a turning lane early and you'll end up somewhere you didn't mean to go. Get in too late and you're going straight and making a U-turn in the next block. Folks had a lot to say about this intersection. But the bottom line is, it moves traffic far more efficiently than the old configuration.

    Pinhook and Kaliste Saloom

Another one with tricky turns, and lots of vehicles, plus drivers turning in and out of some popular eateries and stores: Taco Bell, Cane's, T-Coon's and Walgreen's.
