After hiding $30,000 in a wood-burning stove, a housewife in China tested the strength of her marriage when she forgot the money was there and made a cup of tea.

A 39-year-old contractor, the woman's husband, borrowed $30,000 from friends and family to pay some of his employees for a job.  He was afraid the money would get stolen so he asked his wife to put the loot someplace safe.  She put all of it in the couple's wood-burning stove.

She woke up the next morning and made her a cup of tea.  Remember, this was a wood-burning stove.  Forgetting the money was in there, she burned it all.  There were a few bills that were not totally burned so she took them to a local bank to see if they would exchange them for new bills but the bank said they were too badly damaged in the fire.

The couple has no idea how they will pay the workers AND repay family and friends.  She is devastated.  Her husband says he forgives her and they'll find a way to pay it all back.

Could your relationship endure such an event?
