Will The Saints 'Re-Tool' in 2013? A lot of people are probably expecting that. I'm not. Every team makes changes in the off season, and I'm sure the New Orleans Saints will be no exception. I don't expect a major overhaul.

The Saints won 37 regular season games between 2009 - 11. That's more than any other NFL team.  They fell to 7 -9 in 2012 with essentially the same personnel. What went wrong? Suspensions, lawsuits, and the implementation of a new, complex defensive scheme.

The offense is clearly not broken. Drew Brees passed for 5,177 yards and 43 touchdowns. He didn't get selected to the Pro Bowl. Marques Colston and Lance Moore both surpassed the 1,000-yard mark receiving.

Veteran wide receiver Devery Henderson may be a salary cap casualty with the faster, younger Joseph Morgan averaging 44 yards per catch.

They did, at times, seem out of sync, that can be attributed to the absence of one of the most brilliant offensive coaches in NFL history, and the offensive line coach having to shoulder the head coaching duties.

The defense? Yes, they surrendered an NFL record 7, 042 yards this season. They also pitched the Saints' first shutout in 17 years. They played the first 6 games without a linebackers coach.

"Extreme makeover - I don't know about that. I really don't, but that's why we're in the evaluation process now. We'll make sure that we're putting the right players in the right positions to make plays. We'll match the proper calls with personnel groupings and do a hard evaluation of ourselves, that's only fair."   - Joe Vitt

Defensive tackle Cedric Ellis will be a free agent. I doubt they'll keep him. Linebacker Scott Shanle was a healthy scratch the final 8 games of 2012. Say Goodbye.

We'll probably see some new Defensive linemen, and a younger strong safety.

I suspect our head coach, and quarterback will be "highly motivated"........
