Will Pope Francis, and Pope Benedict the XVI get together for a World Cup party? For the first time in history, we have a living ex-pope. His homeland (Germany) will meet the current Pope's national team (Argentina) Sunday in the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Will they get together for the game, pop open a bottle of sacramental wine, and maybe make a friendly wager? AP reports, Vatican officials are downplaying the possibility. If they do, you probably won't be invited to join them. You can, however, attend a world cup party in downtown Lafayette.

The question on my mind... if each pray for their respective country's home team, who has more pull with "the man upstairs"?
Given the way Germany demolished Brazil, Pope Francis should probably pray extra hard.
