We often hear of professional athletes making millions of dollars as young men, and ending up broke. Adrian Dantley is a basketball Hall Of Famer. He was a high school star in the Washington, D.C.

He was an All - American at Notre Dame, and went on to a successful career in the NBA. He was on the gold medal winning USA basketball team in the 1976 Olympics, and was named Rookie of the Year in his first NBA season. He made millions of dollars in his 15 year pro basketball career.

Why is he working for less than $15,000.00 a year as a school crossing guard? Did he blow all his money? No, he didn't. Dantley is still a millionaire. He simply wanted to do something to give back to the community, and help young people, and refers to himself as a "regular guy."

Dantley has been on the job less than a year, and has save two people's lives. He said, “I would say 70 percent of the people who go across my route are on their telephone or on their BlackBerry, text-messaging.”

I have to tell you, I've enjoyed writing this. i hope it makes you smile.
