Why does the Easter bunny bring eggs.  Why doesn't the Easter bunny bring baby rabbits?  Or, flip it, why don't we have chickens go from house to house on Easter Eve to deliver eggs?

It has something to do with rabbits being a symbol of fertility since their litters are usually plentiful.  Fertility = eggs...get it?  And then spring being the birth of a new season...birth...get it?

The legend of the Easter Bunny and the whole egg thing was given to America by the Germans.  Over the past 200 years, the Easter Bunny has become THE symbol of Easter in America.
