Forget sharing pictures of your newborn on Facebook -- this guy shared the childbirth.

New dad Kali Kanongata'a, of Carmichael, Calif., recorded a video of his partner giving birth Monday, but had no idea he shared it on Facebook as it was happening.

Kanongata'a wanted to put the video on Facebook so his distant relatives could experience the joy of the event. The 45-minute video wound up going viral -- it's been viewer a quarter of a million times.

Once Kanongata'a, who's been accused of oversharing, realized what he'd done, he thought about canceling the recording, but decided against it. "There's a lot of negative stuff on Facebook and so I thought this would be positive," he said." I figured as long as I kept it PG – this is a birth – it's something to be happy about."

Kanongata'a has been livestreaming on Facebook for months, as a way to remain in touch with his two other kids, who live with his ex-wife. That's sweet and all, but it makes you wonder how someone experienced with the technology didn't realize everyone could see the childbirth.
