It's been nearly 12 years since current Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel defeated Glenn Weber to take office. With Durel's last victory in 2011, he become the first person elected to serve in his current post for three terms.

Now that Durel's term limit is up, voters must now choose between Dee Stanley, Durel's longtime CAO in his administration, or Joel Robideaux, a CPA who has been elected to the Louisiana House since 2004 as a representative of Lafayette and who is now term limited there himself.

Both Stanley and Robideaux sat down with KPEL's Bernadette Lee and Brandon Comeaux to discuss how they will address the issues - such as traffic, drainage, public safety, etc. - if they are elected by the voters on Saturday, October 24.
