Baseball is often referred to as "America's Pastime", but the NFL is America’s favorite professional sports league. Diehard fans take great pleasure in showing support for their chosen teams. We wear our colors with pride, and not just on game day.

Do you wear a ball cap with a Fleur De Lis on it? Do you have a jersey? I have 3.
We have a cultural obsession with ranking things. This begs the question, "Which NFL team has the best fans?"

That's a hard question to answer. You can't base it solely it on attendance, or the franchise's profitability. Emory Sports Marketing conducted some research, incorporating team box office revenues relative to team on-field success, market size, stadium capacity, median income and other factors.

The results place Dallas Cowboys fans at #1. I was a little surprised by this. They've played sub .500 for the past three years. The New England Patriots' fans came in at #2. Not a big surprise. Number three Really surprised me. The New York Jets! They came in ahead of the Giants, who've won 2 Super Bowls in the past 5 years.

Who 'Dat Nation comes in at #4. What can you say about Saints fans? We waited 20 years for our first winning season, and more than 40 for a Super Bowl Championship. We sold out the Superdome for the 2012 season, when we knew the Black & Gold would be without a head coach.

Next are the fans of the aforementioned New York Giants, at #5.
Two of the Saints' NFC South rivals have fan bases ranked in the bottom five, Tampa Bay at #29, and  #31 Atlanta, ahead of only the Oakland Raiders.
