If Whitney Houston hadn’t already left an impression on the world, she sure is leaving one since her passing in February, an event we still haven’t fully come to terms with just yet.

Houston’s final film ‘Sparkle,’ a remake of the 1976 movie of the same name, revolves around a girl group during the Motown era of music. The film, which has an Aug. 17 release date, also stars Cee Lo Green (who’s almost unrecognizable) and Jordin Sparks, who plays her daughter.

But Houston’s legacy will live on much longer thanks to screenwriter Joel Schumacher and movie mogul Howard Rosenman. The two have joined forces to help bring her film to the Broadway stage as a musical. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pair are already working on more musical numbers to add to those already recorded by Curtis Mayfield, Houston and R. Kelly for the two soundtrack.

We’re sure the song ‘Celebrate,’ a Sparks/Houston duet, will make the cut of the Broadway show. “I actually just heard a cut of it the other day and my jaw was on the floor,” Sparks said to Entertainment Weekly.
