Update: 12 homes have been evacuated after workers with Black Creek Drilling lost pressure as they were drilling a natural gas well earlier today, which led to the well blowout.

According to our news partners at KATC, La. State Police Troop I is working the situation, which has caused an evacuation of homes and businesses within a mile and a half from the site.

A detour route has been posted, which you can read below courtesy of KATC:

"If you are traveling from the Crowley area, north to the Eunice area, you should take LA 13 to LA 368, LA 368 to LA 370, LA 370 to LA 755.

If you are traveling from the Eunice area, south to the Crowley area, you should reverse those directions."

No estimate has been given yet on when this roadway will reopened.

A natural gas leak has caused residents living within a mile and a half of Highway 13 near Buckhorn to evacuate.

According to our news partners at KATC, deputies in Acadia Parish are calling it a "well blowout." It's also being reported that Highway 13 between Tiger Lane and Branch Highway is being shut down as well.
