Acadiana's a strange place, or a great place to be. This depends, of course, on your outlook.   I think it's both!  We have the richest, most unique regional music scene in North America.

Southern Living Magazine recently named Lafayette the south's Tastiest Town.   You can walk into a gas station and find better food than what's available in some sit-down restaurants elsewhere. This is also the most persistent, least diluted subculture in the US, with the possible exception of the Amish.  With apologies to the folks in Maine, the best seafood in America comes from the Gulf Of Mexico. Now, let's talk about the music. I was just on Facebook.
