Ninth Annual Film Festival brings Two Nights of Francophone Films to Vermilionville January 23 and 24...

A two-night Francophone film series (part of the 9th Annual Cinema on the Bayou Festival) will be held at Vermilionville, beginning this Thursday. “Vue du Bayou” will feature French language films (subtitled in English) from Canada, France and Louisiana. The films will be followed by retrospectives with their filmmakers.

The event starts at 3pm in Vermilionville’s performance center. Entry is $5 at the door for all films and includes a reception sponsored by the Office of the Consulate General of France in New Orleans. Festivities on Friday, January 24th will also begin at 3 pm in the performance center, with an entry fee of $5 from 3 pm-5 pm. After 5 pm, films are $5 each, or $10 for the entire evening which includes musical performances by Texas group The Blues Conundrum and local rockers and favorites Bas Clas.
