Volunteers Needed For FIRST Robotics Bayou Regional

The 2015 FIRST Robotics Bayou Regional is coming to the Ponchartrain Center in New Orleans on Thursday, March 19 through Saturday, March 21 and volunteers are needed! The Pontchartrain Center is located at 4545 Williams Blvd. in Kenner, LA. Parking is free and food and a t-shirt will be provided.

FIRST Robotics provides high-school students with hands-on learning opportunities in engineering and science.  The competition challenges teams and their mentors to solve a common problem in six weeks using a standard "kit of parts" and set of rules.

Teams build robots from the parts and pit them against other robots during a high energy, varsity-style sporting event.  Several teams from Lafayette will be competing, and I will be volunteering as 'Pit Announcer' - calling the teams up for their matches and helping locate robot parts.
