The bad weather over the last few days has forced the cancellation of blood drives and the closure of the United Blood Services donor center on Tuesday and Wednesday, resulting in a loss of over 800 pints of blood that were projected to be collected. High demand and a lack of donations have caused an urgent need for blood and blood donors.  United Blood Services is down to a less than one day supply to service all local hospitals. Your blood donation is needed immediately.

Donors are welcome to make appointments online or by calling 337-235-LIFE (5433). The Lafayette donor center at 1503 Bertrand Drive is open every day with extra staff to accommodate walk-ins.

Donor center hours are as follows:

Thursday 8 am- 5:30pm
Friday 8 am-4:30pm
Saturday 8 am-3 pm
Sunday 8 am-2 pm

You can also donate at these Bloodmobile locations:

Thursday, January 30

Wal Mart on Pinhook, in Breaux Bridge, in Abbeville, and in Broussard 12 pm- 5 pm
