Did you read about the Utah High School that had cancelled a musical which included Elvis Presley songs? The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that a few changes have been made to the Herriman High School production of "All Shook Up," a modern adaption of Shakespeare's "12th Night."  A parent objected to portions of the musical, which is, according to TheatricalRights.com

"inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. Into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that'll have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock," and "Don't Be Cruel."

One of the problems is reportedly a line which read, "Let’s go down to the swimming hole and slap each other’s privates." Another revision: In the song  "A Little Less Conversation" a change was made, with the permission, in the lyrics: "Baby, satisfy me, baby, satisfy me." The student actor will instead sing: "Baby, hold me, baby, hold me." The show dates are February 20 - 23, 2013 at Herriman High School, in Herriman, Utah. Other performance dates worldwide are shown here.
