Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team fell in non-conference play on Wednesday night, dropping a 68-60 decision to the Lamar Cardinals, in a match-up played at the Cajundome.

For Louisiana, it was their first home loss of the year.

Lamar led at the half, 34-30, and then outscored UL, 34-30 in the second half as well, to leave with the 8-point win.

The Cajuns out-rebounded the Cardinals, 44-42, but were out-shot from the field, 44%-31%, and also turned the basketball over 21 times.

Dominique Edwards led the way for Lamar, scoring a game-high 23 points, while also pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds.

In a losing cause for Louisiana, Keke Veal scored 14 points, while Ashley Benjamin added 12, and Jaylyn Gordon chipped in with 10.

With the victory, the Cardinals improved to 3-2, while the Cajuns fell to 2-2.

Louisiana returns to action on Monday night, when they hit the road to take on Jackson St. in non-conference play.
